Job vacancy 

Job Title: Social Worker 

Status: Part Time, for a fixed period until the end of 2020 

Location: Attica 

Submit until: 25/09/2020 

Project’s purpose 

EPAPSY in collaboration with UNHCR is going to implement a project in Attica that focuses on the provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) integrated services to refugees/asylum seekers in the accommodation scheme as part of the ESTIA program, as well as capacity building to strengthening the role of health operators and Mental Health professionals in the delivery of MHPSS at urban area level. 

Responsibilities 

  • To perform MHPSS needs assessments about the target population. 
  • To identify and liaise the PoCs with the NHS and to ensure that an effective referral system is made available for them. 
  • To design and implement the relevant response strategies and interventions to strengthen MHPSS service delivery in collaboration with the PoC and taking into account his/her needs and experiences. 
  • To establish and maintain positive and efficient relations with target population, community members and all the other actors. 
  • Help identify service gaps and the need for training, 

Required qualifications and skills 

Education 

  • University degree in Social Worker with professional license 
  • A Master is a plus. 

Experience 

  • At least 2-3 years previous professional experience 
  • Experience working within the field of community based Mental Health is highly valued. 

Required professional skills 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within different cultural environments 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility, motivation, and maturity 
  • Good knowledge of Greek legislation with regard to MHPSS care for adults and children and local and national referral pathways 
  • Knowledge of international humanitarian response and development work would be an asset. 

Language 

  • Excellent English and Greek communication skills (both oral and written) 
  • Fluency in Arabic/Farsi/Sorani is a plus. 

Computer skills 

  • Good IT knowledge (Microsoft Office, Internet) and ability to maintain computer-based records 

Other 

  • Fulfilled Military Obligations (male candidates) 
  • Valid driving license

Job Title: Community Psychosocial Worker

Status: For a fixed period (3 months) with possibility of extension

Location: Urban Area of Attica

Project’s purpose

EPAPSY in collaboration with UNHCR is going to implement a project in the urban area of Attica that focuses on the provision of Community Psychosocial Support integrated services to refugees/asylum seekers. The objective of the project is to develop competency-based skills of refugees enabling them to take on paraprofessional roles of Community Psychosocial Workers within the refugee communities.

Responsibilities

· Assessment of problems and identification of needs

· Community outreach activities

· Mental health promotion and prevention of mental illness

· Psychosocial support (individual and group sessions performing home visits -or in community centers-and using community-based MHPSS approaches facilitates families and communities to support and care for others)

· Community mobilization leading to enhanced social resilience

· Referral to available and accessible resources including provision of basic needs

· Create and promote new initiatives that support the psychosocial wellbeing of refugees.

Required qualifications and skills

Profile

· Adults

· Recognized refugee or subsidiary protection status or asylum seeker

Experience

· Experience in voluntary work (formal or informal through community networks)

· Experience working within the field of mental health and social work is highly valued.

Required professional skills

· Motivation and potential to learn

· “Lived experience” - Persons who have experienced (themselves or in people in their direct social environment) mental health problems 

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within different cultural environments

· Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility, motivation, and maturity

Language

· Fluency in English or basic knowledge (or in the process to learn) Greek 

· Excellent Farsi or Arabic or French

Computer skills

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is considered as an asset

Project’s purpose

EPAPSY in collaboration with UNHCR is implementing a project in Thessaloniki that focuses on the provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) integrated services to refugees/asylum seekers in the accommodation scheme as part of the ESTIA programme, as well as capacity building to strengthening the role of health operators and Mental Health professionals in the delivery of MHPSS at urban area level.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the team
  • Ensure that project’s deliverables are on time (data collection and appropriate reports)
  • Act as a focal point of contact in all matters pertinent to the EPAPSY’s project in urban area of Thessaloniki.
  • Represent EPAPSY in relevant working groups and meetings.
  • Establish collaborations with the stakeholders of the project (accommodation partners, actors in the MHPSS field and public mental health care, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Project Manager of the project for guidance/support and permission about project performance and activities, financial aspects, etc.
  • Participate to clinical supervisions
  • Schedule and coordinate the team meetings (biweekly)
  • Supports the team in the preparation of the weekly/monthly activities

Required qualifications and skills

Education

  • A university degree in social sciences is required
  • A Master in public health, protection, human rights, international development is a plus.

Experience

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in management positions and/or NGOs
  • Experience working within the field of mental health is highly valued.

Required professional skills

  • Coordination and management skills
  • Monitoring and evaluation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within different cultural environments
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility, motivation, and maturity

Language
